so ava and i took an last min trip to new york ... it was strange to be back there especially with ava and no keegan. It had been 9 months. I felt a little like a tourist, i guess i kind of am now. It was awesome... ava went to the city that never sleeps and she rarely slept except in time square and FAO swartz but owell. It was cold but fabulous and we had a great time and made me miss it extra much.

oh my gosh she really is growing up

my baby is really growing up... she will be in college before i know it (ha). she turned 8 months old today and has all sorts of new tricks and gets so frustrated when she does not get to play and move by herself.

Ava can now really crawl and is very curious and adventurous. She tries to pull herself up on everything and is intrigued by anything that is unsafe for her to have.... you know scissors, knives, cords, chokable small things oh the list goes on....

First day off for daddy in a long time

so Keegan had the day off two days ago. It was amazing. I really think it might have been Ava's best day of her life.... She has been missing Keegan so much lately it is pitiful. I will walk through the bedroom when he is sleeping to get something from our closet and she will reach for him and flail her body at the bed so having a day with him was good for everyone. It was warm and beautiful here so we headed to the park for a picnick and ava went to the slides with daddy and the swings.

a little recap of Christmas. It was at our house this year because Keegan had to head to work and we live really close. Ava really enjoyed the paper ... especially tissue paper. She loved her keys and her real phone (aunt caitlin's broken one). Gavin and Amanda (keegans brother and sister in law stayed with us and Ava thought is was awesome because they were really fun and a good filler for daddy being at work so much) She loved having everyone around.

Today some wonderful Kappa ladies from Wash U and one fabulous husband met at Shenaniganz to see each other and to play in our new place. It is crazy because all three girls I really really like in college but when we graduated I never really thought I would see again. And well now that Dallas area is home we will and do see eachother. Here are a few pics from tonight. Let me just tell you that it was my first night bowling at Shenaniganz and I won one game. Ava was very sleepy after shopping all day but was great and very interested in the lights as usual.

I dont know what has gotten in to me these days but i find it fun to dress ava up. Not fancy but wear antlers or dress as santa or cupcake or something. prolly something to do with a lot of alone time with her and well the fact that i am always in gym clothes.
