Sarah, Laura and Sondra
Today some wonderful Kappa ladies from Wash U and one fabulous husband met at Shenaniganz to see each other and to play in our new place. It is crazy because all three girls I really really like in college but when we graduated I never really thought I would see again. And well now that Dallas area is home we will and do see eachother. Here are a few pics from tonight. Let me just tell you that it was my first night bowling at Shenaniganz and I won one game. Ava was very sleepy after shopping all day but was great and very interested in the lights as usual.

So tomorrow Shenaniganz opens to the public. Holly shit. I mean really there is nothing else to say. I cant believe it is finally here and I hope it all goes smoothly. My dad came to visit for the the soft opening for friends and family which was a practice for the employees (all 110 of them) and since keegan works 18 hours a day play with Ava and me. I will put shenaniganz pics up tomorrow.

Shenaniganz
oh my goodness... it is really here. It is set to open monday the 15th with a soft opening for friends and family on Saturday (my dad is flying in to check it all out for himself) The place looks amazing (there is still a lot that needs to happen this week but it is awesome) but requires a lot of work. I really have not seen Keegan except for 10 mins here and there. He will be at work until 12:30 tonight and well the rest of the week. I hate that part of it. So does Ava... like i am being serious. Yesterday Keegan got to be home for e few hours and Ava was the happiest girl I have seen in a long time. We were able to get a Christmas tree and get it actually up and decorated and let Ava watch from the floor where she figured out the crawling thing for real..... so it was perfect cause Keegan was actually home to witness it. I will try and get some more shenaniganz pics tomorrow. And maybe some of our decorations since they are way bigger then when we lived in nyc.

NC and Back
We are just back from North Carolina. Keegan came with us for one night (turkey day) and then had to get back to work. But Ava got to visit Will and Anna and all the grandparents and also meet Felice and Michael and play with Kathleen and Ryan. It was fabulous to be home and see my family. Kinda makes me miss them more now and be in the North Carolina woods for hiking and trail running. We logged a lot of miles and enjoyed the crisp air and beautifulness. Ava had a great time. Here are a few picks from the week.

playing with daddy
So here are few pictures from the other day when Ava's friend Kaiya came over to play and daddy just happened to be home from work to use the facilities (remember Shenaniganz is a work in progress and well i think this week the plumbing will be up and running but since we are less than a mile away sometimes Keegan comes home when nature calls.) I do not know who loved it more.... Kaiya or Keegan... I think Ava thought it was old news the whole dancing with dad thing (we dance a lot around here)

Scary but so thankful
So last Friday morning I got up really early to go to the gym before Keegan and Ava were even up. Jumped out of bed, brushed teeth, grabbed gym card, ipod and keys and headed to 24 hour fitness like I do every morning. Except on the way home ( Ava was not with me - thank goodness) I totaled the car. I have never been in an accident before in my life... well when i was a valet parker I scraped one car but it was not 2 moving vehicles and when I was little my mom hit a deer and that was traumatic cause I could not understand how the deer was going to get to Heaven when the meat was in the freezer (the police officer insisted that we take home some of the meat) but this was my first real accident. It was awful. Unfortunately, it was my fault. I got T boned crossing two lanes of on coming traffic with a green yield light. I could not see the second lane because the traffic was so backed up in the first lane and the sun was shinning... the lady in the first lane waved me through (although I know I can not blame her she could have been saying I can go through or something not that it was clear) so I went for it and bam. Everyone is fine. I am a little sore and will never go that way home anymore but everyone was okay. That is the most important thing. The lady that hit me drove away her car not nearly as damaged as ours which is interesting cause I was driving the much bigger more substantial car. But my roof buckled from the impact and the airbags in my car went off. The worst part of the story is that I did not have my phone or wallet and I do not know Keegans phone number..... I know that is bad so I am working on memorizing a new number a day for a while. But When the ambulance came one of the drivers let me use her phone and she called information and got my father in law on the phone where I had to explain what happened and get him to get in touch with Keegan so that he could a. come hold me and b. bring me my drivers license (luckily this is all very close to our house and to Keegan's parents) and i did not get a ticket for not having my drivers license. Well soon after that Hazel showed up to comfort me as she was headed to the building and it is close. Keegan did not hear his cell phone and Tom (K's dad) did not know our house phone ( i now know it) so now Justin is involved (keegans brother who lives in our neighborhood). He has to come in the back door cause Keegan has adapted to Ava by being able to sleep through anything (completely sober)including door bells. Justin gets stuck with a hungry fussy Ava (thanks J you are the best) and Keegan comes up to the bring me my wallet and bring me home as the Lexus is towed. Sad day in the Ripp house because we loved that car and well... the plan was that I would get a new car in January and K would drive that car but now i get a new car now and well Keegan will get a new old car as soon as we can afford it. But we are all okay is the big thing. I came home that day and all I wanted to do was hold Ava... I ran in the door and grabbed her and just held her tight for the rest of the day. Amazing how quickly life can change. I am so thankful that no one was seriously hurt. drive safely.
